IL RUOLO DELLE TECNOLOGIE GEOMATICHE NELL’AMBITO DELL’EDUCAZIONE AL PATRIMONIO CULTURALE DEI GIOVANI
Abstract
This article explores the role of geomatics technologies in promoting cultural heritage through education activities for young people. In particular, the EDU Lab, an initiative from the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO (AIGU), aims to foster a collaborative approach among students and experts, adhering to UNESCO's values and principles. The involvement of volunteers, often researchers or academics, among others, strategically promotes collaboration with universities and bridges educational levels, encouraging meaningful intersections and synergies. Technology is itself a tool to engage students in the practical realization of the projects. As a matter of fact, educating young people in the cultural heritage field through this approach enables creativity to assume a leading role in achieving sustainable goals, both economically and socially. With the aim of investigating how the support of geomatic technologies has an impact on young people's education on cultural heritage, case studies are presented analyzing good practices of educational projects carried out in some schools in the Marche Region.
